Privacy Policy
Pataditas (“the app”) is a baby kick counter for iPhone made by Kaelux (Luis Angel Lucatero Villanueva), Mexico (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: we don’t collect it.
1. Summary
- No account is required and none exists.
- We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share your personal data.
- No advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- Your data stays on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. We cannot see it.
2. Information you enter in the app
To work, the app stores things you provide: movement logs (time and type: kick, roll or hiccup), contraction timings, your name or nickname for the baby or yourself, your due date, your choice of illustration (boy, girl or surprise), reminder time, and app preferences. This information is stored locally on your device.
This is health-related information, so we treat it with extra care: it is never sent to our servers, because we don’t operate servers for the app.
3. iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, the app uses Apple’s CloudKit to sync your logs between your devices, stored in your private CloudKit database. Your settings (such as name and due date) sync using iCloud key-value storage. This data lives in your Apple account and is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. The developer has no access to it. You can turn iCloud sync off for the app in iPhone Settings.
4. What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, device identifiers, advertising identifier, usage analytics or crash data of our own. We do not use cookies or tracking in the app. The app doesn’t request access to your location, contacts or photos.
5. Notifications
Reminders and alerts (such as the daily reminder and the contraction 5-1-1 alert) are local notifications scheduled on your device. They do not use a push notification server. You can manage them in iPhone Settings.
6. Widgets, Control Center, Siri and the Action Button
Widgets, controls, Siri and Action Button shortcuts read and write the same on-device data through the app. Siri requests are processed by Apple according to Apple’s privacy policy; the app does not send them anywhere else.
7. PDF report and sharing
The PDF report for your doctor (part of Pataditas Plus) is generated on your device. It is only shared if you choose to, through the iOS share sheet, and with the app or person you select.
8. Purchases
Pataditas Plus subscriptions and the Pregnancy Pass are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information, name or Apple ID. The app only checks locally, through Apple’s StoreKit, whether you have an active purchase. Apple may provide us aggregated, anonymous sales and download statistics in App Store Connect, which cannot identify you.
9. Third parties
The app contains no third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics or tracking. The only third parties involved are Apple (iCloud, App Store, Siri, notifications) under their own policies.
10. Children
Pataditas is designed for expectant parents and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children; in fact, we don’t collect personal information from anyone.
11. Retention, access and deletion
Because we hold no copy of your data, you are in control of it. You can delete data by removing the app from your iPhone, which erases local data. To also remove the copy in iCloud, open iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Pataditas, and delete its data. See our support page for steps.
12. Data security
Your data is protected by the security of your device (passcode, Face ID) and of iCloud (encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple). No method is perfectly secure, so we recommend keeping your device protected.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, LGPD in Brazil or Mexican data protection law), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Since we do not hold your data, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase on our side; you can manage everything directly as described above. If you have any request or question, write to us.
14. Medical disclaimer
Pataditas is not a medical device, does not diagnose and does not replace professional care. If you are worried about reduced fetal movement, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
15. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and publish the new version on this page. If a change materially affects how data is handled, we will tell you in the app.
16. Terms of use
Use of the app is governed by Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
